In WE, the EYES zijn de overlevenden na een vernietigende brand op zoek naar het ware leven, naar de verbinding met hun instincten, intuïtie en met elkaar. De groep baant zich vanuit totale duisternis een weg naar het licht, naar nieuwe vormen van bestaan, leven en identiteit. Ergens lijkt vuur te zijn. Hoe kunnen ze weer lustig spelen met het vuur zonder op te branden? Hoe kunnen we nu medemens zijn? Wat gaan we met elkaar ontdekken als wij “WE” zijn. Waaruit bestaat dan onze identiteit?
Over de WE-Cycle van ICK
WE, the EYES wil perspectieven ter discussie stellen in een maatschappij in crisis en claimt verandering. Het is na WE, the BREATH, de tweede voorstelling in de WE-Cycle. ICK is ervan overtuigd dat we de komende tijd ingrijpende veranderingen gaan doormaken. Maar we zijn nu nog blind voor de diepere dimensie daarvan. Dat remt ons. De WE-projecten geven een podium aan de reis, die we samen als mensheid ondernemen.
Over Pink Oculus
Pink Oculus is het alterego van de Amsterdamse zanger en producer Esperanza Denswil. Ze is een experimentele hip-hop/soul/jazz artiest die haar publiek overtuigt met innovatieve mix van raps, zang, melodieën en hypnotiserende beats. Ze wordt wel vergeleken met muzikanten als Kendrick Lamar, Erykah Badu en D’Angelo.

A dominating screen in the shape of a monolith oracles seven times with frenzied images between reality and fiction. Ten performers burn loose, beat the drum, shout it out, throw mud, stoke the fire and dance the souls out of their bodies.
WE, the EYES depicts a micro-society that emerges out of nowhere and brings bodies together in the here and now. To the music and sound of rock, bodysound, electronic, experimental and classical music (with vocals by Pink Oculus), the performers break through to a new world, fuelled by vocals, beats and rhythms of live percussion.
In WE, the EYES, the survivors after a devastating fire are searching for true life, for connection with their instincts, intuition and with each other. The group makes its way from total darkness to the light, to new forms of existence, life and identity. Somewhere there seems to be fire. How can they play lustily with the fire again without burning up? How can we be fellow human beings now? What will we discover together when we are "WE". What will our identity then consist of?
About the WE Cycle by ICK
WE, the EYES aims to question perspectives in a society in crisis and claims change. After WE, the BREATH, it is the second performance in the WE Cycle. ICK is convinced that we are going to experience profound changes in the time to come. But we are currently blind to its deeper dimension. That inhibits us. The WE projects give a stage to the journey, which we are taking together as humanity.
About Pink Oculus
