Een one-woman theekransje - en jullie zijn allemaal uitgenodigd of eigenlijk, gewoon nodig.

BASELINE BABBLING is een one-woman theekransje vol liedjes, een poging tot dans en te veel gepraat. Terwijl ze onophoudelijk in haar microfoon praat en zingt, viert Kirsty Baker het plezier en het belang van samenkomen, in het hier en nu, in dezelfde ruimte, met alle onzekerheden die ontstaan als we zo dicht bij elkaar komen.

Spontaniteit, oprechtheid, een beetje chaos, een enorme hoeveelheid vreugde en een goed kopje thee leiden Kirsty Baker en het publiek door BASELINE BABBLING, terwijl ze voelen hoe fundamenteel ze elkaar nodig hebben en hoe goed het kan voelen om onbeschaamd jezelf te zijn.

Over de maker

Kirsty Baker is geboren en getogen in Frankrijk in een 'oh so' Britse familie van entertainers. Haar eerste pogingen op het podium waren als peuter, toen ze in de musicals van haar ouders belandde en later vroeg of ze viool kon spelen.

Haar hele jeugd bleef ze experimenteren met theater en muziek, toen ze zich ging verdiepen in hedendaagse dans en zich aansloot bij een locatietheater collectief in Bordeaux.

Dit alles leidde haar uiteindelijk naar de Mime opleiding in Amsterdam, waar ze in 2023 afstudeerde. Ze werkt nu als soloartiest en voor verschillende theater- en mimegezelschappen in Nederland.

It’s a one-woman tea party and you are all very much invited. No, needed, actually.

BASELINE BABBLING is a one-woman tea party full of songs, attempted dance and too much talking. As Kirsty Baker talks and sings incessantly into her microphone, she celebrates the pleasure and importance of coming together, here and now in the same room, with all the insecurities and questions that might come from getting so close to one another.


Spontaneity, sincerity, occasional chaos, a huge amount of joy and a good cup of tea guide Kirsty Baker and the audience through BASELINE BABBLING as they get to feel how fundamentally they need each other and how good it can feel to unapologetically be yourself.

About Kirsty Baker

Kirsty Baker was born and raised in France in an ‘oh-so‘ British family of entertainers. Her first attempts on stage were as a toddler when she ended up in her parents‘ musical shows and later asked if she could play the violin.

Experimenting with theater and music continued up until early adulthood when she immersed herself in contemporary dance and joined a site-specific theater collective in Bordeaux (FR).

All this led her to the Mime School in Amsterdam (NL) from which she graduated in 2023. She now works as a solo artist as well as for a variety of theater and mime companies in the Netherlands.
